The Enagic SD501 vs. the Jupiter Athena

Today we are going to go over the results you get in pH and ORP in both the Enagic SD501 and the Jupiter Athena water ionizer. The SD501 retails for $4000 and the Athena can be purchased here for $2395 ($1600 cheaper!)

Now, one would think that you would get a better result from a machine that costs $1600 more, but you’ll be surprised to see that’s not always the case.

ORP

Measuring the ORP of the water output of each machine is measuring the antioxidant level of the two waters.

The SD501 has three levels of alkaline ionized drinking water, each level was tested with a slow and fast water flow. The ORP measured at its three levels and each water flow was as follows:

Level 1
Slow water flow: -87 ORP
Fast water flow: -122 ORP

Level 2
Slow water flow: -121 ORP
Fast water flow: -137 ORP

Level 3
Slow water flow: -168 ORP
Fast water flow: -481 ORP

The Jupiter Athena has three levels of alkaline ionized drinking water, too, but was only tested at the slow water flow [1.5 liters per minute]. The Athena's ORP measurements were:

Level 1: -112 ORP

Level 2: -566 ORP

Level 3: -806 ORP

As you can see the Jupiter Athena out-performed the Enagic SD501 by quite a bit. This is due to the fact that the Athena has continual cleaning of the platinum plates. Every 15 seconds the plates are being cleaned to give you the best water ionization possible.

The Enagic doesn’t have this feature and so can’t maintain a high ORP with a build-up of minerals on the plates. The Enagic has intermittent cleaning, which means it cleans itself after so many liters of water have passed through it.

Now, let’s look at the pH of each machine.

PH

The pH of the highest alkaline ionized drinking level of the Enagic was 10.9 and the pH of the highest drinking level of the Jupiter was 10.8. With the pH-levels so similar, there really shouldn’t be such a huge discrepancy in the ORP. Note: the pH of both the Enagic and the Athena can get higher, but the higher level is for cleaning, and not drinking, purposes. The higher pH-levels weren't being tested for this post though, because my focus is on healthy alkaline ionized drinking water.

One of the main reasons there is a greater ORP per pH-level of the Athena, is because of the fact of no build-up on the plates and therefore no losing performance. The Athena cleans its plates constantly, non-stop, so maintains high ORP-readings at each pH-level. Visit my Jupiter Athena page to learn about the other reasons that make the Athena so much better than the Enagic. https://alkalinewaterplus.com/our-products/jupiter-athena-water-ionizer

So, there you are. It’s pretty easy to see that not only will you save $1600 on the Jupiter Athena, but you will also get better water supplied to you and your family. You really can’t beat that.

Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Cathie LoGrasso. I have created this blog to review and compare different electronic water ionizer machines, as well as related products.

I have been using a water ionizer for over 20 years! When I saw the dramatic effects this water created I never went back to tap or bottled water and my family and I have been drinking it ever since.

I was a teacher/principal for 24 years and after retiring I wanted to continue helping others. I decided to educate people on the wonderful changes brought about by switching to alkaline ionized water. I opened my online store 8 years ago and have since accumulated a massive website with articles, blogs, products, etc, all related to ionized water. I have studied, tested, inspected, analyzed and been vigorous in my goal to become very learned in this subject so I may then impart this knowledge to you. I have 100s of videos on YouTube and have written many blogs and articles on this subject. This has been my second career and I enjoy it!

This website will be here to further educate and enlighten people on the subject of water ionizers and the related products. It will be a frank and straight-forward look at the different products on the market so you can more easily make the decision on which ionizer is right for you and your family.

I sell a wide array of water ionizers and am not paid by one specific company so there is no bias or prejudice. There are obviously water ionizers that are of a higher quality than others, but there are many factors that go into choosing the right one, such as finances, quantity of water consumed, what you'll be using it for, your level of health, etc. However, all of the ionizers I provide to my customers have been tested personally by me and provide a high standard of water I would be willing for me or my family to consume.

Please drop by often and comment on the articles. You can share them with your friends and loved ones, too.
