Nexus Smart 7P vs. Enagic SD501

Today I’m reviewing each of these high-end water ionizers and comparing their pH and ORP, along with their features. While they are both very good, quality machines, one of them edges out the other in features and warranty.

water ionizer, Nexus, Smart 7P

pH and ORP

The pH levels of both machines were very similar. I tested the Enagic at the 9.5 level and the pH of the water was 10.0, which is very good. The water I tested on level 3 of the Smart 7P, a comparable level, registered at a pH of 9.7 when I tested it with my pH meter.

These similar pH readings should give similar ORP measurements (ORP measures the antioxidant level of the water – the lower the number, the better. A good ORP will be a negative number, so -100 would not be as good as, say -500.)

The Enagic SD501 had an ORP of -239, while the Smart 7P had an ORP of -271.
The Smart 7P has a better ORP measurement, which I attribute to the continual-cleaning feature.

Features of Each Water Ionizer

The Smart 7P water ionizer has a very important feature that I mentioned earlier – continual cleaning. This means that at every moment the machine is cleaning its plates, keeping build-up from collecting. This build-up affects the performance of the machine and reduces its efficiency.

The Enagic does an acid wash on its plates every so many liters of water processed by the ionizer. This leads to a build-up of minerals on the plates that affect the pH and ORP of the water. I always highly recommend a water ionizer that has continual cleaning.

The filter port on the Enagic is located on the front of the machine. While it is fairly easy to pop the filter out of the compartment, there are two washers you need to make sure you don’t lose. They can’t be found at a regular hardware store and will need to be special ordered directly from the company itself. It is also slightly difficult to put the filter back in; not horribly hard, just a little more difficult than other models I sell. You also have to ensure you get the filter in there completely otherwise it will leak.

The Smart 7P ionizer has its filter compartment located on the back. It’s very easy to snap the filter in and out and it is designed to be leak proof.

The warranty on the Enagic is a 5-year warranty on parts, whereas the 7P has a lifetime warranty on parts.

Pricing

The pricing of the Enagic is roughly $4000.

The price tag on the Smart 7P is $1500.

Why such a huge price discrepancy when the two machines are fairly comparable, with the Smart 7P actually having better features? The Enagic is sold through a multi-level marketing system and you have to increase the price of the product in order to be able to afford paying the seller of the machine, as well as their immediate upline.

The Smart 7P you can buy through my store and I get them directly from the manufacturer. There are no middle men to pay.

Bottom Line

While there is no doubt the Enagic is a quality machine that will provide you with great ionized water, I still highly recommend the Smart 7P based on the data I have presented you here. Save yourself $2500 and purchase the Smart 7P.

Below is a short video I made of my testing and demonstration of these two ionizers. Let me know if you have any questions.

Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Cathie LoGrasso. I have created this blog to review and compare different electronic water ionizer machines, as well as related products.

I have been using a water ionizer for over 20 years! When I saw the dramatic effects this water created I never went back to tap or bottled water and my family and I have been drinking it ever since.

I was a teacher/principal for 24 years and after retiring I wanted to continue helping others. I decided to educate people on the wonderful changes brought about by switching to alkaline ionized water. I opened my online store 8 years ago and have since accumulated a massive website with articles, blogs, products, etc, all related to ionized water. I have studied, tested, inspected, analyzed and been vigorous in my goal to become very learned in this subject so I may then impart this knowledge to you. I have 100s of videos on YouTube and have written many blogs and articles on this subject. This has been my second career and I enjoy it!

This website will be here to further educate and enlighten people on the subject of water ionizers and the related products. It will be a frank and straight-forward look at the different products on the market so you can more easily make the decision on which ionizer is right for you and your family.

I sell a wide array of water ionizers and am not paid by one specific company so there is no bias or prejudice. There are obviously water ionizers that are of a higher quality than others, but there are many factors that go into choosing the right one, such as finances, quantity of water consumed, what you'll be using it for, your level of health, etc. However, all of the ionizers I provide to my customers have been tested personally by me and provide a high standard of water I would be willing for me or my family to consume.

Please drop by often and comment on the articles. You can share them with your friends and loved ones, too.
